On November 17, 2021, the International Truck of the Year Jury presented the prestigious award to Harry Wolters, President of Dove Trucks, during a press conference at Solutrans, a heavy Vehicle and Accessories show, in Lyon, France.
Duff’s long-distance heavy truck series won 150 votes, beating Iveco’s recently launched T-Way Engineering series and the Mercedes-Benz eActros(second generation) pure electric truck.
According to the selection rules, the International Truck of the Year (ITOY) Award is awarded to the truck that has made the greatest contribution to improving the efficiency of road transport in the past 12 months. Key indicators included technological innovation, comfort, safety, drivability, fuel economy, environmental friendliness and total cost of ownership (TCO).
Duff has created a range of trucks that fully meet new EU quality and size regulations, significantly improving aerodynamic efficiency, fuel economy, active and passive safety, and driver comfort. Engine performance was further improved through improved truck accessories, such as engine pumps, bearings, housing, water seals, etc.
During a recent long test drive in Spain and Central Europe, members of the International Truck of the Year jury praised the duff truck for the excellent visibility provided by its huge curved windscreen, low-waisted side Windows and curb observation Windows. These features — along with a digital vision system that replaces the traditional rearview mirror and a new angular camera — provide all-round superior visibility, providing protection for vulnerable pedestrians.
Truck of the Year jury members also praised the performance of the new efficient powertrain of the PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines, as well as the advanced features of the ZF TraXon automatic transmission and predictive cruise control with extended Eco-roll capabilities.
Gianenrico Griffini, chairman of the International Truck of the Year judging panel, commented on behalf of the judging panel: “With the introduction of a new generation of trucks, Duff has set a new benchmark in the trucking industry by introducing a range of high-tech heavy trucks.
