Mercedes-benz’s first all-electric truck, the eActros, has entered mass production. EActros will use a new assembly line for production, and will continue to offer city and semi-trailer models in the future. It is worth mentioning that eActros will use the battery pack provided by Ningde Era. Notably, the eEconic version will be available next year, while the eActros LongHaul for long-distance transportation is scheduled for 2024.
The Mercedes-Benz eActros will be equipped with two motors with a total power of 400 kW, and will offer three and four different 105kWh battery packs, capable of providing up to 400 km of range. Notably, the all-electric truck supports a fast charging mode of 160kW, which can boost the battery from 20% to 80% in an hour.
Karin Radstrom, member of the Board of Management of Daimler Trucks AG, said, “The production of the eActros series is a very strong demonstration of our attitude towards zero-emission transportation. The eActros, Mercedes-Benz’s first electric series truck and related services are an important step forward for our customers as they move towards CO2 neutral road transport. Moreover, this vehicle has a very special significance for THE Worth plant and its long-term positioning. Mercedes-benz truck production starts today and hopes to continuously expand the production of this series of electric trucks in the future.
